ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Give managers a deep dive into the practical science of positive leadership and why it works.
Positive leadership is the strategic reliance on a positive bias to support employee well-being, improve business outcomes like productivity and profitability, and better alignment within organizations. Research on a range of companies shows remarkable and immediate shifts in leader effectiveness and employee performance.
DEEPER ENGAGEMENT THROUGH POSITIVE LEADERSHIP
The scholarship and practical experience around positive leadership and its impact within organizations grows every day. Once leaders clearly understand what drives workplace engagement (through our Boot Camp), the most effective next step is our half-day workshop on Positive Leadership. Rather than the older, simplistic view that “leadership” is a person with a particular title, we now understand leadership is relationship. The act of leading, at its core, is relational and communal. When managers and senior leaders express more positive emotions, research shows they encourage the same emotions in followers, who then perceive the leader as more charismatic and effective. Teams with the highest ratio of positive to negative communication measure almost double in levels of engagement, information exchange, and involvement by team members as teams with the lowest ratio (Cameron 2012).

RECOGNITION & FEEDBACK WORKSHOP
For Managers & Senior Leaders
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Human beings are hardwired at a neurological level to care about how they are valued by others, both consciously and subconsciously. Managers who consistently provide positive, detailed and substantive recognition and feedback to their team members typically support higher levels of employee engagement. In this half-day workshop we will review the science supporting more effective techniques for providing feedback and recognition. In addition, managers will be given a range of skills and practical examples that can be put to immediate use.

ACCOUNTABILITY WORKSHOP
For Managers & Senior Leaders
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Accountability is a key pillar of every high-performance culture. Employees committed to their own accountability and insisting upon it with their colleagues is essential. Where organizational cultures typically suffer is from a pervasive failure in the latter – holding each other accountable. There are two categories to track: 1) the tasks we are responsible for and, 2) our behavior (how we impact others as we complete those tasks).
Great cultures push for accountability in both categories. The ability to have accountability conversations with each
other in a curious, collaborative and safe fashion is a critical skill for managers and leaders. This session guides leaders through the process of having difficult conversations and holding people accountable without the typical negative sting and punitive demeanor.

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
One of the most common themes raised in the open-ended comments made by employees who take our E3A is the need for more and better communication. Employees ask for more effective communication from their leaders and more opportunities to communicate among and between teams.
This half-day workshop focuses on improving both professional and interpersonal communication skills for managers including the use of PowerPoint and other work-related presentations. As one of our original workshops, we have provided this session to a wide range of clients ranging from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Fortune 100 company clients.

LEADING EFFECTIVE MEETINGS
For Managers & Senior Leaders
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This workshop was initially developed for one of the world’s most successful broadcast corporations based on the high cost (wasted staff time, employee frustration, and inefficient decision-making) of substandard professionalism in running meetings.
The workshop offers a wide range of techniques and practical advice on how to run more effective meetings. The net result is fewer meetings of shorter duration where more work is accomplished. In workplaces where employees frequently comment on a lack of time and too many meetings, this workshop will provide welcome relief.

CULTURE CHANGE
For Managers & Senior Leaders
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
In most cases, especially when employee engagement levels are low, the most effective way to support rapid improvement is to supplement manager-focused training with a hands-on experience for employees. Our extraordinary Workplace Summit helps employees focus on what they envision as a great workplace (values, behaviors, relationships) and then on what steps are needed to achieve that ideal workplace culture. The session stays aspirational, forward-looking and on existing strengths, to keep the dynamic positive and productive. This workshop is a perfect complement to our Employee Engagement Boot Camp for Managers.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AT THE SESSION
Part One:
We will conduct a 2-3 hour facilitated Workplace Review session with the organization’s senior leadership and E3 Solutions seasoned facilitators focusing on current and past organizational health: employee engagement data (if available), alignment, cohesion, attitudes, and concerns.
Part Two:
We will conduct a 4-5 hour Extraordinary Workplace Summit, designed to work directly with employees on what they see in the organization’s strengths and potential. (The company’s E3A survey results will also be included at a high level, if available).
The primary focus of the summit is on organizational strengths (where there is general agreement on what is going well) and then to cover key opportunities for change and improvement (the issues that are holding the company back -- that have a pervasively negative impact). Employees will participate in a very interactive and upbeat process based on open collaboration and transparency.
It also includes E3 Solutions Keep/Improve/Stop/Start (KISS) exercise where employees decide on existing practices worthy of holding on to, workplace elements that could be improved, current actions that should be stopped, and new actions that should be adopted. The goal is to imagine what an extraordinary workplace would look like and then collectively decide what it will take to get there.
